RoofRite Roofing Ltd, company number 16093135. We are a roofing company covering East Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and Lincolnshire from three offices, and the work is carried out by our own roofers rather than subcontracted out.

Why directly employed matters

Most roofing companies of any size subcontract. It is not automatically bad, but it does mean the crew on your roof may never have worked for that company before and may never work for them again. There is nothing holding the standard together except the price they agreed that week.

Our roofers are employed by us. The same people do the last roof of the month as the first, they know they will be the ones coming back if something is wrong, and that changes how a job gets finished.

How we quote

We survey first, always. That means getting on the roof where it is safe to and photographing what is actually there rather than guessing from the ground. Then you get a written, itemised quote with the scope set out, so you can put it next to anyone else's and compare like for like.

If the roof needs a repair rather than replacing, that is what we quote for. There is no sense selling a re-roof to somebody who needs a day's work, and it is a fast way to lose the recommendation that comes after it.

Three offices, one standard

What we will not do

• Quote a roof we have not seen
• Tell you a roof needs replacing when it needs repairing
• Turn up unannounced offering to fix something we spotted from the road
• Ask for a large payment before the work starts
• Leave the guarantee as a verbal promise
