Why the scaffold is the moment to do everything else
Scaffold is a real part of the cost of any roof job. Once it is up, the extra cost of replacing fascias, soffits and guttering, sorting the chimney, or re-lining a valley is the labour and materials alone. Doing those jobs separately over the next few years means paying for access three times.
It is the same logic with ventilation. A re-roof is the only sensible opportunity to fix eaves and ridge ventilation, because it is all buried once the covering is back on. We look at what the loft is doing before the roof goes back, not after.

Will you fix the ventilation while you are up there?
